The ‘Mount Airy’ Fothergilla is a small shrub with thin crooked branches. The dark green leaves are fairly large and have a slight leathery texture. The leaves turn a vibrant yellow to orange and then to red in the fall, often with a combination of all the colors on the same plant. The fragrant white flowers appear in April or early May.
